About
I believe that the wisdom of the Stoics holds the key to navigating modern challenges with grace and purpose.
This digital sanctuary, Letters & a Stoic, was born from my wake up call to Stoic philosophy and its timeless relevance to the information heavy, often overwhelming state of play that we can find ourselves in.
I'm David, a husband to one, a father to three, a generalist and a Stoic. I founded this space in an attempt to translate the profound insights of Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus and some of the modern practitioners of stoicism into cohesive practical guidance for our present state of play.
As a seeker of wisdom - I work to make Stoic principles accessible without diluting their depth.
I’m hunting for benefit within, and where I find it in me - I can point you in the right direction to find it in you.
Whether you're discovering Stoicism for the first time or deepening your practice, I have crafted content and courses to support your journey towards a more examined, tranquil, and virtuous life. While the core tenants of Stoicism remain constant, and you can get them from the source in the Stoic writings, sometimes a different voice with a different angle can open up a tenant for further review. I hope my voice can do that for you.
My approach blends reading with application, creating a bridge between ancient stoic writings and modern living. I don't study Stoicism from a purely theoretical point of view - I try to absorb it, live it, test it, and share what works.
It’s a practice. It isn’t quick but as I adjust my inner world, the outer world responds.
Join me as I explore the art of living well through weekly letters, curated resources, and contemplative practices that have withstood the test of time.
